COLD IN WINNIPEG

It's one of those cold days that's make me evaluate going South for the winter. The report in the paper just says COLD. I can't understand why the weather reporters insist on giving the "chill factor?" It is what it is, after all. I remember living and working in Thompson for one year flying to outlying towns in the North from the Fall of 1980 to June 1981. That was brutal. Checked my poor little car and it started this morning. I have it plugged in (block heater) on a timer for the wee early hours of the morning. I actually had a block freeze and crack on a car when I was living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, back in the 60's! I drove a Chrysler Intrepid from 1996 to 2001 and the water pump froze on that thing about three times each year. One month before the warranty expired I traded for a Hyundai in Nov. 2001. It's practically just a roller skate with a motor on it, but I am still driving it (knock on wood!). Time to go take of the flannel PJ's (mmmm warm) and take a shower. I really get homesick for the South just before Christmas - enjoy it- all of you lucky Southerners!

FIRST ATTEMPT

This is my first time posting. Quite a journey getting this far. I guess I am dense. I have chosen several blog names and this is the first one that has worked or not been used. Hopefully I'll get the hang of this and put print to page. Wish me luck!
